50,000 Haryana youth to get job opportunities in Japan under new partnership, this is how young professionals will prepare for overseas careers
Chandigarh: Thousands of youths from Haryana could soon find career opportunities in Japan, thanks to a new partnership between the Haryana government and Japan's Fukuoka Prefecture. Under this agreement, approximately 50,000 youths from the state will be provided with job, internship, and skill development opportunities over the next five years.
This initiative was finalized during the 'Haryana-Fukuoka Connect-2026' meeting, where officials from both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in employment, technical education, and industrial development.
This move comes at a time when Fukuoka's technology sector is facing an acute shortage of skilled workers. With around 80 percent of the prefecture's tech companies struggling to find qualified professionals, a significant opportunity has emerged for Haryana's trained youth.
Haryana govt plans to launch Japanese language training and technical courses
To help them fully capitalize on these opportunities, the Haryana government plans to launch Japanese language training and specialized technical courses tailored to the requirements of Japanese employers. The aim is to ensure that candidates are job-ready before heading abroad.
During the meeting, Haryana also highlighted its investor-friendly policies, including the single-window clearance system and expedited industrial approvals. The state proposed establishing a campus of the Fukuoka Institute of Technology in Gurugram, a proposal the Japanese delegation agreed to consider.
India, Japan to strengthen academic ties
Both sides also decided to strengthen academic ties through joint research, student and faculty exchange programs, and institutional collaboration. Officials stated that this partnership is expected to pave a clear path for Haryana's skilled youth to build successful careers in Japan, while also strengthening economic and educational bonds between the two regions.
