Ayodhya Ram Mandir Donation Row: FIR Filed, Who Figures in It, and Who Got Relief?
Ayodhya Ram Mandir Donation Row: An FIR has been registered regarding the alleged theft of offerings at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. The case was filed based on a complaint by Krishna Mohan, a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Reports indicate that this action follows the submission of the SIT's preliminary investigation report.
The Trust has filed the case under sections related to theft, embezzlement, and fraud. According to available information, eight individuals have been named as accused in the FIR. These include Ramashankar Yadav (Tinnu Yadav), Anukalp Mishra, Avinash Shukla, Manish Yadav, Ramashankar Mishra, Subhash, and Karunesh, among others.
Champat Rai's name not in the FIR
It is noteworthy that the list of accused in the case filed by the Trust does not include senior office-bearers such as General Secretary Champat Rai, Anil Mishra, and Gopal Rao. This is despite the fact that opposition parties have been targeting and questioning these very individuals regarding the alleged theft of offerings for some time.
Champat Rai's inclusion in the FIR was considered certain
Earlier, sources had revealed that the SIT, in its investigation report, had identified 17 individuals—including Champat Rai, Trustee Dr. Anil Mishra, and Construction In-charge Gopal Rao—as accused. The registration of an FIR against them was considered almost certain.
During the investigation, the SIT found the keys to the donation boxes in Tinnu's possession. The SIT had identified approximately 150 sevadars (volunteers) and employees whose financial status had changed following the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) of Ram Lalla on January 22, 2024.
Arrests likely soon
Most importantly, rather than an outsider filing a complaint, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust itself took the initiative to register the FIR. With this firm step by the Trust, the matter has now entered the realm of a formal criminal investigation. Consequently, as the investigation progresses, the likelihood of legal action and arrests against the accused has increased.
