Bhopal twin toddlers Sanvi and Samanvi Nahar set a world record by playing drums at just 3; earn recognition at British Parliament
Bhopal: What began as playful drumming on household objects turned into a remarkable achievement. Twin sisters Sanvi Nahar and Samanvi Nahar—currently just 3 years and 9 months old—have been recognized by London’s 'World Book of Records' as the world's youngest female drummers. They received this honor at a ceremony held at the British Parliament's House of Commons.
Their mother, Dr. Nikita Nahar, says the girls showed a unique affinity for rhythm from a very young age. She says, "They would drum on whatever object they could find. That made me feel they might have a natural talent." However, transforming this innate talent into a refined skill was not easy. Most music teachers in Bhopal were hesitant to teach children so young, believing they lacked the concentration and coordination required for drumming.
Yug Namdev Yogi agreed to teach them
Everything changed in November 2025 when Yug Namdev Yogi, a drum instructor at 'Guru Yogi's Music Valley Academy,' agreed to teach them. He says, "Teaching young children is difficult because their attention spans are short. But Sanvi and Samanvi surprised us all. They grasped the rhythm quickly and showed tremendous progress within just a few months."
Earned a place in the 'World Book of Records'
Having mastered hand-and-foot coordination, the twin sisters were ready for a major challenge. On March 21, 2026, they completed a drum performance in 1 minute and 20 seconds, earning them a place in the 'World Book of Records' along with a medal and a certificate.
Twins sisters come from a family of doctors
These sisters come from a family of doctors. Their grandfather, Dr. Akshay Nahar, is an orthopedic surgeon; their father, Dr. Saksham Nahar, is a surgeon; and their mother is a dentist. This honor serves as proof that with the right encouragement and guidance at the right time, even the youngest of talents can achieve extraordinary success.
