Raipur: Chhattisgarh's Tourism and Culture Minister, Rajesh Agrawal, has stated that digital platforms can play a pivotal role in taking the state's tourism, culture, and tribal heritage to a global audience.
Speaking at a social media influencer meet held in Lakhanpur, Ambikapur, he remarked that social media today is far more than just a source of entertainment. According to him, it has become a powerful medium for shaping public perception and giving a new identity to places, traditions, and communities.
He encouraged young digital creators to highlight the positive aspects of the state by producing engaging content focused on Chhattisgarh's tourist attractions, historical sites, temples, folk culture, and tribal lifestyles.
Agrawal specifically mentioned places such as Chitrakote, Tirathgarh, Kanger Valley, Sirpur, Bhoramdeo, Ramgarh, Mainpat, Barsoor, Chandkhuri, and Dantewada, noting that greater visibility for these locations could help attract more tourists. This, in turn, would benefit local employment, artisans, folk artists, and the rural economy.
Agrawal also emphasized that cleanliness is essential for the development of tourism. He appealed to influencers to spread the message of cleanliness and responsible travel, noting that tourists tend to remember places that are clean and well-maintained.
