Patna: 'EduConnect Bihar'—an ambitious digital initiative of the State Board of Technical Education (SBTE), Bihar, operating under the Department of Science, Technology, and Technical Education, Government of Bihar—has been shortlisted for the prestigious SKOCH Award 2026. This achievement is regarded as a significant milestone in the realm of digital innovation, good governance, and the effective use of technology within Bihar's technical education system.
The project was selected after successfully completing all stages of a rigorous and independent evaluation process conducted by the SKOCH Group. The award ceremony for this honor will take place during the 108th SKOCH Summit, scheduled for June 20, in New Delhi.

The 'EduConnect Bihar' project aims to make technical education more transparent, accountable, and student-centric through modern technology. This initiative has established effective digital coordination among the state's technical educational institutions, students, and the administrative machinery. By digitizing various academic and administrative processes, the initiative has made services simpler, faster, and more transparent.
Platform provides students with access to a wide range of essential services
A key feature of 'EduConnect Bihar' is that it serves as an integrated digital platform for the state's technical education system, powered by software developed in-house by the State Board of Technical Education, Bihar. The platform provides students with access to a wide range of essential services—such as free e-content, syllabi, online certificates, a placement portal, and an alumni portal—all in one place. This has ensured better digital facilities, transparency, and easy access for students, teachers, and institutions alike.
An excellent example of technology-driven education administration
The project was spearheaded by Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Secretary of the State Board of Technical Education, Bihar; under his guidance, the Board has undertaken remarkable work to drive digital transformation in the field of technical education. Congratulating the team on this achievement, Himanshu Sharma, Secretary of the Department of Science, Technology, and Technical Education, stated, "EduConnect Bihar is an excellent example of technology-driven education administration. This national-level recognition will give a new identity to the state's technical education system."
Ahmed Mahmood, Additional Secretary-cum-Director of the Department of Science, Technology, and Technical Education, also commended the Council's achievement, noting that EduConnect Bihar has presented an effective model of digital governance in the field of technical education. This national honor serves as a testament to the positive transformations taking place within Bihar's technical education system.
