Bihar's Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari paid a courtesy visit to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi.

Tiwari apprised Pradhan of the innovations and ambitious schemes being implemented by the Bihar government in the education sector. He stated that a decision has been taken to realize the vision of "Advanced Education – Bright Future" under the Bihar government's 'Saat Nischay-3' (Seven Resolves-3: 2025–30) initiative.

540 schools to be developed into 'Saraswati Vidya Niketan'

He said the state government has decided to develop a total of 540 schools—comprising all district schools and one higher secondary school in every block—into 'Saraswati Vidya Niketan' (Model Schools).

695 schools in Bihar will be transformed into model schools

Additionally, 155 existing government and government-aided schools will be upgraded under this same scheme. Thus, a total of 695 schools in Bihar will be transformed into model schools, ushering in a new revolution in the state's education system.

He affirmed that the Bihar government is committed to providing quality education to every child in the state. 'Saraswati Vidya Niketan' will prove to be a milestone in this direction, and under the Chief Minister's leadership, the state government is continuously moving towards making Bihar a model state for education in the country.

Vocational education laboratories will be set up

Tiwari informed the Union Education Minister that the state government is working on a multi-dimensional program to modernize education. Under the vocational education initiative, vocational education laboratories will be set up in a total of 1,068 schools (covering classes 9 to 12), with two schools selected from each block.

ICT labs to take digital education to the grassroots level

Similarly, the installation and operation of 2,577 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) laboratories are proposed across the state to take digital education to the grassroots level. Furthermore, 25,220 smart classrooms will be established and operated in the state's schools, ensuring technology-enabled teaching.

He stated that this initiative by the Bihar government is fully in line with the spirit of the National Education Policy 2020. The Saraswati Vidya Niketan scheme not only addresses the physical upgradation of schools but also accords equal priority to the quality of teaching, digital integration, and skill development.

Pradhan appreciated these initiatives by the Bihar government and assured the Central Government's support.
