How Uttar Pradesh youth will be trained to meet global corporate needs; modern courses to run in ITIs in collaboration with Tata Technologies

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the conduct of state-of-the-art courses in 149 Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and one Regional Staff Training and Research Centre (Aliganj, Lucknow) across the state, in collaboration with Tata Technologies Limited (TTL).

Kapil Dev Agarwal, the State Minister (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, stated that technical education in the state is being upgraded under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. 

1,065 personnel to be recruited through outsourcing 

He said as part of this initiative, approval has been granted to recruit a total of 1,065 personnel through outsourcing to ensure the smooth operation of modern trade courses developed by Tata. This involves engaging 171 workshop instructors and 894 instructors across the state.

The Minister emphasized that the Yogi government is committed to providing employment to the youth and maintaining transparency in the system. These 1,065 positions will be filled through the 'GeM Portal' on an 'outsourcing of service' (job outsourcing) basis. The selection of the service provider agency will be conducted in a completely independent, fair, and transparent manner. 

Educational qualifications and other criteria for these posts will be determined by the Directorate of Training and subsequently approved by the government. This order has been issued following the concurrence of the Finance Department.

State's youth will now be trained in sectors driven by Industry 4.0

With the collaboration of Tata Technologies, the state's youth will now be trained in sectors driven by the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0), moving beyond traditional courses. Nine state-of-the-art courses are being conducted at these institutes, covering areas such as Electric Vehicle Mechanic, Industrial Robotics and Digital Manufacturing Technician, Advanced CNC Machining Technician, Manufacturing Process Control and Automation, Industrial Internet of Things Technician, Additive Manufacturing Technician/3D Printing, CAM Programmer, Basic Designer and Virtual Verifier (Mechanical), and Artisan Using Advanced Tools.

Courses will equip state's youth with skills required by global companies

Run in collaboration with Tata Technologies, these courses will equip the state's youth with the skills required by global companies. Students graduating from these ITIs will be able to secure employment with excellent compensation packages, not only within the country but also abroad. The Yogi government aims to transform Uttar Pradesh into the country's largest 'skill hub,' and this initiative will prove to be a milestone in that direction.
