MP: CM Mohan Yadav Tells How Kukru in Betul Will Emerge as Major Tourism Destination: Adventure Sports to Boost Tourist Footfall—Local Youth to Receive Training
Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav announced a series of major initiatives to transform Kukru, the picturesque hill station in Betul district, into one of state's premier tourism destinations. He said that an Integrated Tourism Circuit connecting Kukru, Chikhaldara, Muktagiri and Melghat will be developed at a cost of rs 15 crore to promote tourism and regional development. The Chief Minister made these announcements during his visit to Kukru on Sunday.
CM began the day with a yoga session at the Kukru Rest House, encouraging people across the State to make yoga an integral part of their daily lives. Amidst the serene natural surroundings, he performed a range of yoga asanas with remarkable ease, including Mayurasana, Sheershasana, Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, Bhadrasana, Vakrasana, Bhujangasana and Shalabhasana. He also practised Nadi Shodhana, Butterfly and Bhramari Pranayama along with local residents.
Eco-Tourism, Adventure Activities and Modern Tourist Facilities
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that eco-tourism, sunrise and sunset viewpoints and other scenic attractions would be developed in Kukru. Modern eco-resorts and tourism infrastructure will be created to provide world-class facilities for visitors. Adventure tourism activities, including trekking and other outdoor sports, will also be introduced. CM assured that additional budgetary support would be provided, if required, to accelerate tourism development.
Homestays to Empower Tribal Communities
To ensure local participation in tourism, CM announced that homestays would be developed and operated by tribal community groups. These homestays will be managed on the lines of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC) properties, while bookings will be facilitated through Madhya Pradesh Tourism, creating sustainable employment and self-employment opportunities for local residents.
