Shubman Gill to lead Team India in ODI series against England; see who made the squad and who missed out?
The BCCI announced the Indian ODI squad for the England tour on Sunday. Shubman Gill has been named captain and Shreyas Iyer has been named vice-captain. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are also part of the squad.
This series against England is considered crucial for preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup. The tour will feature five T20Is and three ODIs. The T20I squad has already been announced. Shreyas Iyer is the captain of the T20I team.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a century in the third ODI against Afghanistan, has not been included in the squad. Yashasvi was selected in the ODI squad against Afghanistan in place of the injured Virat Kohli.
Varun Chakravarthy out of Ireland T20I series
Varun Chakravarthy will miss the T20I series against Ireland due to injury. He was selected for both the Ireland and England series, but is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru. His availability against England will depend on his fitness. According to the BCCI, a final decision on his return will be taken after consulting the medical team.

Team India's 2026 UK tour consists of two T20 Internationals against Ireland in Belfast (June 26–28), followed by a white-ball series in England comprising five T20Is (July 1–11) and three ODIs (July 14–19).
