Raipur: According to the Meteorological Department, the Southwest Monsoon-2026 is expected to reach Chhattisgarh within the next two to three days. With its impending arrival, the weather across the state is changing rapidly, and alerts for rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds have been issued for several districts by India Meterological Department (IMD).

Meanwhile, mixed temperature trends are being observed across the state. Maximum temperatures in North Chhattisgarh have dropped by 1-2 degrees Celsius, while there has been a slight rise in parts of Central Chhattisgarh. The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Rajnandgaon at 42°C.
Thunderstorm activity is expected to continue for the next five days
IMD stated that thunderstorm activity is expected to continue for the next five days, with rainfall likely to gradually increase in parts of South and Central Chhattisgarh. Conditions are becoming favorable for the monsoon's entry into the southern districts over the next four to five days.
In Raipur, the sky is expected to remain partly to mostly cloudy over the next 24 hours, with a likelihood of light rain or thundershowers. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 40°C, while the minimum temperature may remain close to 28°C.

Over the past 24 hours, several parts of South and Central Chhattisgarh experienced light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, while temperature fluctuations continued.
