Tiger Came Very Close to a Couple in Bhopal's Chandanpura; Panic Among Residents
Bhopal: Panic gripped local residents after a tiger was spotted in Bhopal's Chandanpura on Friday morning. The tiger came very close to a couple out for a morning walk. When the woman raised an alarm, the tiger disappeared into nearby bushes. Shortly thereafter, a Forest Department team arrived at the scene and launched a search operation.
The woman recounted that she initially mistook the animal for a stray dog. "It passed right next to me. When I looked closely, I realized it was a tiger," she said. She immediately called out to alert her husband, who was walking a few steps ahead of her, and the tiger moved away. Several other morning walkers also spotted the tiger, while some heard it roar. Some people even recorded videos of the animal from a safe distance.
Tiger later entered the premises of a private farmhouse
Eyewitnesses stated that the tiger later entered the premises of a private farmhouse. Wildlife expert Rashid Noor explained that Chandanpura lies within a natural tiger corridor; however, increased human activity, ongoing construction work, and gaps in security fencing can cause the animal to stray close to residential areas.
The Forest Department has urged people to avoid morning walks in the vicinity of Chandanpura or venturing near the forest fringes until the tiger is safely located.
