What did India say after summoning U.S. Chargé d'Affaires? what Trump said?
The U.S. Chargé d'Affaires, Mr. Jason Meeks, was summoned to the Ministry of External Affairs on Friday.
A strong protest was lodged with him regarding the continuing attacks by U.S. naval forces on commercial vessels carrying Indian mariners in the Gulf of Oman, which have already resulted in the tragic and avoidable loss of three Indian lives.
The Ministry once again conveyed its deep concern over the use of lethal and deadly force against civilian shipping. Such actions are unacceptable and undermine the safety, security and stability of international maritime commerce in a sensitive region at a difficult time.
The U.S. Chargé d'Affaires was requested to convey India's strong concerns to his authorities and to ensure that U.S. Forces operating in the region take all necessary measures to prevent the loss of civilian life.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs statement, "The US Charge d'Affaires was requested to convey India's serious concerns to his government and ensure that US forces deployed in the region take all necessary steps to prevent civilian casualties."
Iran attempted a drone attack on Indian vessels: Trump
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran attempted a drone attack last night on Indian-flagged vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, but the US military thwarted the attempt. Trump stated on social media that Iran needs to mend its ways immediately.
He also criticized Iran for leaking details of the agreement. Trump remarked that the reports and claims made by Iran in the media do not align with the agreement reached between the two nations.
Trump alleged that Iran has provided misleading information to the media, attempting to portray the deal as having been concluded on its own terms, whereas the reality is quite different.
