CM Dr. Mohan Yadav addresses Bharat Tex-2026 event at Bharat Mandapam; invites investors to set up industries in Madhya Pradesh
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is making progress in every sector. Madhya Pradesh is boosting both textile production and employment by effectively managing the resources available in the textile and garment sectors. The textile industry is strengthening the state's economy.
Prime Minister Modi has laid the foundation stone for the country's first PM MITRA Park in Dhar district. This initiative will provide direct and indirect employment to 3 lakh people and significantly benefit over 6 lakh cotton-growing farmers in the Malwa-Nimar region.
The PM MITRA Park will facilitate the reach of the state's products from the farm to the garment industry and from the industry to the global market. Inviting industrialists and investors to set up their industries in Madhya Pradesh, CM Dr. Yadav remarked that anyone who visits Madhya Pradesh once becomes captivated by it; the 'Heart State' welcomes all industrialists.
CM expressed these views on Thursday during a round-table dialogue held as part of 'Bharat Tex-2026' at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Union Textiles Minister Shri Giriraj Kishore, representatives of major textile industries, and officials from the Union Ministry of Textiles and the state government were present on the occasion.
Special Place for Maheshwari and Chanderi Sarees in the Textile Industry
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav noted that a 'Kumbh' (grand gathering) of the textile industry is taking place at Bharat Mandapam today. The Madhya Pradesh government, along with representatives of global brands, investors, industrialists, policymakers, and fashion designers, is ready to move forward in step with the Government of India's resolve.
The current era is defined by branding and packaging. Historically, Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar initiated the production of Maheshwari sarees to provide employment to local weavers. Maheshwari sarees remain popular both within the country and abroad today. Chanderi sarees also hold a special place in the textile industry. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh has now emerged as a hub for Zari, silk, man-made fiber, and cotton textiles. The state holds immense potential for growth in the textile and garment sectors. A robust law-and-order situation, an ample supply of skilled labor, and cordial relations with the workforce foster a favorable industrial environment.
Dr. Yadav held one-on-one meetings with key representatives of the textile industry to discuss matters related to investment, production, exports, and employment generation. Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) regarding collaboration were also signed with the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), the Man-Made and Technical Textiles Export Promotion Council (MATEXIL), and The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (TEXPROCIL).
The Chief Minister toured the exhibition at 'Bharat Tex-2026' and participated in a round-table discussion with leading representatives of the country's textile industry. Officials from the Central and State governments, including Union Textiles Secretary Smt. Neelam Shammi Rao and Principal Secretary (Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion) Shri Raghavendra Singh, were present on the occasion.
