MP: How Mission Green Commando delivers healthcare services to remotest corners of Barwani’s rugged hills
Barwani: As the first rays of the Sun fell upon the rugged hills of the Satpura range, a unique journey began in the remote Bokrata area of Barwani district's Pati block. On July 16, around 200 dedicated teams set out—not for a routine government task, but with a shared mission: to ensure that no child missed out on life-saving vaccines, no pregnant woman was deprived of essential care, and no family remained beyond the reach of healthcare services.
Under the guidance of Barwani Collector Jayanti Singh, 'Mission Green Commando' translated its resolve into action. Reaching approximately 2,500 households across nine Gram Panchayats, teams comprising medical officers, ANMs, Panchayat officials, Patwaris, and local volunteers delivered medicines, vaccines, and hope to the region's most inaccessible villages.

This undertaking required far more than just administrative planning. Vehicles could only transport the teams to the edge of the hills. Beyond that point, health workers trekked for hours through forests, up steep slopes, and along narrow paths, carrying vaccine carriers, medicine kits, and essential medical equipment on their shoulders. Every step they took reflected their unwavering determination to serve the people living in the most remote areas.

Families were provided with ORS packets and essential medicines, while health workers raised awareness about hygiene, nutrition, safe drinking water, and the prevention of seasonal diseases. Children suffering from malnutrition and individuals requiring specialized medical care were identified and linked to further treatment and support.
Far more than just a health campaign, 'Mission Green Commando' emerged as a powerful example of a responsive administration. It reaffirmed that development is truly meaningful only when it reaches the last household, no matter how long or arduous the journey. In the hills of Pati, where roads give way to rugged mountain trails, the resolve to serve proved stronger than any obstacle—reminding us that when humanity leads the way, no destination is too far.
