CM Mohan Yadav flags off Malwa Express from Nishatpura: Bhopal gets its fourth railway station
The Nishatpura railway station in Bhopal, which had been ready for nearly three years but was awaiting operational commencement, was formally inaugurated on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav flagged off the Malwa Express from Nishatpura station, marking the start of its regular scheduled halt there. A new stoppage for the Jabalpur-Veraval Somnath Express was also inaugurated. With this, Nishatpura has become Bhopal's fourth railway station.
Sports, Youth Welfare, and Cooperative Minister Vishwas Sarang, MLA Vishnu Khatri, Mayor Malti Rai, senior railway officials, and a large number of local citizens were present at the event.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the expansion of railway infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh is progressing steadily in preparation for Simhastha-2028. He said the country is witnessing unprecedented transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, with every sector setting new benchmarks of development.
New station will reduce travel time and improve operational efficiency
Dr. Yadav said said the city has now gained its fourth railway station. He said the commissioning of Nishatpura Station would eliminate the need for trains travelling from New Delhi towards Ujjain and Indore to undergo track and locomotive changes, reducing travel time and improving operational efficiency. The CM also remarked that the two trains now halting at Nishatpura symbolise Shiva and Shakti.
Improved Rail Connectivity for Simhastha-2028
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said Indian Railways continues to strengthen connectivity for Simhastha-2028, which is expected to attract nearly 40 crore devotees to Madhya Pradesh. He noted that new railway stations would play a vital role in easing passenger congestion during the mega religious congregation.
Developed at a cost of Rs 14 crore, Nishatpura Railway Station will open new avenues of growth for the surrounding areas while offering improved passenger amenities. The new station will enable passengers travelling between New Delhi, Ujjain and Indore to save time by boarding trains directly from Nishatpura without travelling to Bhopal Main Station.
The Chief Minister said that railway connectivity not only improves passenger convenience but also promotes trade, agriculture and freight movement. He acknowledged the continued support of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in expanding railway infrastructure across Madhya Pradesh.
