Mandsaur: Demands are intensifying for the development of essential amenities for devotees at the ghat situated on the banks of the Shivna River, adjacent to the renowned Shri Pashupatinath Mahadev Temple—a major center of faith in Mandsaur. Every day, a large number of local residents, as well as devotees from various parts of the district and state, arrive here to bathe, offer prayers and perform abhishek to Lord Pashupatinath, and conduct various religious rituals. Despite this, the lack of several essential facilities at the ghat is causing inconvenience to the devotees.

In this regard, Pt. Shrikrishnavallabh Shastri ('Malwa Swami'), founder of the Bhagwat Vichar Sansthan, Mandsaur, has urged the local MP, MLA, district administration, District Collector, and the Chairman of the Shri Pashupatinath Temple Management Committee to urgently make necessary arrangements for the convenience of devotees at the ghat. Pt. Shastri pointed out that devotees face difficulties due to the unavailability of clean water after bathing at the ghat. He demanded the installation of a sufficient number of permanent taps for bathing and drinking water to ensure easy access for the devotees.

He noted that there is currently a lack of adequate shaded areas for sitting at the ghat. Devotees—especially the elderly, women, and children—face significant hardship due to the scorching sun during summer and rainfall during the monsoon season. Therefore, it is essential to construct permanent sheds at suitable locations within the ghat complex. Keeping cleanliness and public convenience in mind, Pt. Shastri has also demanded the construction of a public toilet on the opposite side of the road near the ghat. He emphasized that the availability of clean and accessible toilets is crucial for devotees visiting religious sites. Additionally, he stated that safe changing rooms should be constructed on a priority basis, keeping in mind the convenience and dignity of women.

He remarked that the Shri Pashupatinath Mahadev Temple is a major religious and tourist destination not only for Mandsaur but for the entire Malwa region. Thousands of devotees visit the site throughout the year, with numbers multiplying manifold during Sawan, Mahashivratri, and other religious festivals. Consequently, expanding basic amenities has become a pressing need.

Devotees also suggest that providing facilities such as drinking water, bathing areas, shelters, toilets, and changing rooms for women would offer significant relief to visitors and make the temple premises more organized and appealing. They have urged public representatives and the district administration to consider the site's religious significance, take a prompt and positive decision on these demands, and initiate the necessary development work.
