MP: How Chhindwara’s historic tourism village Deogarh will shine globally: 3-day documentary shoot concludes
Efforts are underway to establish Deogarh—a historic tourism village in MP's Chhindwara district—on the global stage with the support of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board.
A documentary film has been produced to showcase the village's historic fort, stepwells, Maa Chandi Temple, waterfalls, forests and hills, tribal folk culture, and homestay facilities to a worldwide audience; filming took place in Devgarh over three days.
Film will soon be screened on global platforms
With the shooting schedule now complete, the film will soon be screened on global platforms to boost tourism. Tourism development initiatives in Chhindwara are proceeding under the able guidance of Collector Harendra Narayan and District Panchayat CEO Agrim Kumar. Both officials had directed that the historic and cultural heritage of Devgarh be highlighted globally.
As part of this initiative, the documentary on Deogarh was filmed with the support of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board.

A team from Mumbai captured various activities undertaken by tourists staying at Deogarh’s homestays. The camera recorded every aspect that could help elevate Deogarh’s global profile—from the Gond rulers' fort and centuries-old stepwells (built with remarkable foresight) to the Maa Chandi Temple, tribal folk culture, orange orchards, and scenes of fresh vegetables being harvested from fields and cooked on traditional hearths.
12 homestays have been established in Devgarh
Balram Rajput, Nodal Officer for the District Archaeology, Tourism, and Culture Council, stated that 12 homestays have been established in Devgarh through the collaboration of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board and the 'Back to Village' organization, attracting tourists from both within the country and abroad. A large number of tourists from Maharashtra are visiting the village to enjoy the rural tourism experience.
