Ratlam: There is great news for farmers of Namli region in Ratlam. Several significant decisions were made during the board meeting of the Parasparik Kisan Utpadak Sahkari Sanstha Maryadit (FPO), Namli, with the aim of boosting farmers' income and promoting agro-based industries. The most crucial decision among these is the establishment of a garlic powder and garlic paste processing plant in Namli.

The Namli area in the Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh is renowned for the cultivation of high-quality garlic. Being part of the Malwa region, this area offers the ideal loam soil and favorable weather conditions for garlic production.

Organization President Kirti Kumar Jaiswal stated that the entire documentation process for this ambitious project has been completed, and the proposal has been sent to Bhopal. Construction work will commence as soon as the necessary approvals are received; land for the project has already been acquired on lease.

Jaiswal said that the Namli region holds a distinct identity as a major garlic-producing area in the state. Once the processing plant becomes operational, value addition to the farmers' produce will take place locally, enabling them to secure better prices.

Additionally, new employment opportunities will be created for the youth of the region. The organization plans to distribute the garlic powder and paste produced in Namli to markets across the country and abroad through the cooperative model.

A proposal to secure an authorized dealership from the National Seeds Corporation (NSC), New Delhi, was also unanimously passed during the meeting.

Through this initiative, high-quality certified seeds will be made available to farmers for the upcoming Rabi and Kharif seasons. It was also decided to provide certified seeds of improved wheat and gram varieties to member farmers. The meeting was conducted by Chief Executive Officer Rahul Suryavanshi.
