The Madhya Pradesh Department of Skill Development and Employment has taken a significant decision to integrate the state's daughters into skill development initiatives. The State Government has decided to offer a 25% concession on training fees for girl trainees enrolling in all government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state, starting from the 2026 academic session. According to the order issued by the Madhya Pradesh State Skill Development and Employment Board, this provision will apply to all government ITIs in the state.

Under this new arrangement, girl trainees will directly save Rs 1,335 on their first-year admission fees. The total fee for the first year will now be Rs 4,755, down from the previous Rs 6,090. This concession will be available to all girl trainees enrolling in any government ITI in the state from the 2026 academic session onwards.

More daughters will be encouraged to pursue technical education

Gautam Tetwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Employment, stated that under the leadership of CM Dr. Mohan Yadav, the state government is continuously working to provide quality skill training to daughters and empower them for employment and self-employment. This decision to grant a 25% concession on training fees will encourage more daughters to enroll in ITIs and pursue technical education. He added that the decision was taken with the aim of ensuring that financial constraints do not become a barrier to any daughter's skill development.

It is noteworthy that the state government has already reserved 35% of seats for girls in government ITIs. This initiative has yielded positive results; in 2025, 12,169 girls enrolled in the state's government ITIs, marking a 3.29% increase compared to 2024. This additional concession on training fees will prove to be a significant step towards increasing girls' participation in technical and vocational education and fostering self-reliance among them.
