MP: BJP State President Hemant Khandelwal missing from poster in Vindhya, what does this signal ?
Much like the Congress, the BJP is also plagued by factionalism in Vindhya in Madhya Pradesh, with leaders constantly trying to undermine one another. Personality-driven politics is gradually gaining ground.
Pawan Patidar, the State President of the BJP's 'Pichhda Varg Morcha' (Backward Classes Wing), recently visited the Vindhya region. Posters and banners were put up to welcome him. Curiously, however, the photograph of BJP State President Hemant Khandelwal was missing from the posters.
While even former MLAs were featured, the State President was left out. This raises the question: why did this happen? It could well be attributed to factionalism.
One might wonder if this occurred with the knowledge of Rajendra Yadav, the District President of the Pichhda Varg Morcha (Backward Classes Wing). Omitting the State President's photo is no trivial matter; it signals the politics of factionalism.
Signs are emerging that the BJP in Rewa has split into three internal camps. What exactly does the newly appointed president intend to prove—or which local strongmen does he wish to appease—by removing the State President's photo? Even if it was a mistake, such posters and banners should have been removed immediately, yet they were not.
