MP: CM Mohan Shares Traditional 'Sidori' Meal with Farmers, Says Paddy Crop Will Also Be Covered Under Bhavantar Scheme

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that farmers are not merely food producers but the true custodians of the earth, nurturing and sustaining society through their tireless hard work. He said the prosperity of farmers is the foremost commitment of the State Government, as the progress of the state and the nation depends on the well-being of its farming community. The Chief Minister, addressing the State-level Paddy Festival at Seoni district headquarters on Wednesday, described the Mahakoshal region as globally renowned for paddy cultivation. 

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Bhavantar Scheme will now be extended to paddy crops. Under the scheme, the State Government will compensate farmers for the difference between the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and the market price. 

He also said that under the Viksit Bharat Ji-Ram-Ji Yojana, the new version of MGNREGA, various categories of works will continue uninterrupted across the state to ensure that farmers and those seeking employment do not face any hardship. CM transferred a bonus of Rs 2.84 crore to the bank accounts of 3,941 millet (Kodo-Kutki) growers under the Rani Durgavati Shri Anna Protsahan Yojana, at the rate of Rs 1,000 per quintal.



CM Participates in Paddy Transplantation

Before addressing the programme, CM Mohan Yadav inaugurated the State-level Paddy Festival by personally transplanting paddy seedlings in a farmer's field in Seoni. Women farmers joined him in the field, singing traditional folk songs and creating a vibrant cultural atmosphere. 

The CM said that while soybean is the primary crop in his home region, this was his first experience transplanting paddy, describing it as immensely satisfying. He added that he would return next time with his wife so that she too could become part of this cherished tradition.



Shares Traditional 'Sidori' Meal with Farmers

After the paddy transplantation, farmer Daulatram Bisen from Lohara village in Barghat invited the Chief Minister to share his traditional 'Sidori' meal brought from home. CM MohanYadav gladly accepted the invitation and enjoyed the simple meal of homemade rotis, jaggery and pickle, expressing his gratitude. 

CM later offered prayers to nature, local deities and Gau Mata, and planted a mango sapling on the field bund. His warm interaction with farmers and simple conduct became the highlight of the event, reflecting the Government's close connect with the farming community.
