MP: CM Mohan Yadav to Perform Bhoomi Poojan of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Smart Industrial Park; Bhopal to Get 25-Acre World-Class Convention and Exhibition Centre
Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will take a major step towards transforming Bhopal into a modern industrial hub by performing the Bhoomi Pujan and laying the foundation stone of the Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Smart Industrial Park at Satgarhi on Monday, July 6.
The programme, being organised on the birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee will mark another significant milestone in Madhya Pradesh's industrial development journey. More than 200 leading industrialists, investors, and representatives of industry associations from across the country and the state are expected to participate in the programme.
A new hub for the expansion of industrial activities in Bhopal
Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Smart Industrial Park, to be developed over nearly 173 acres, will serve as a new hub for the expansion of industrial activities in Bhopal and the surrounding region. The project will feature modern industrial infrastructure, excellent road and transport connectivity, IT- and AI-enabled facilities, logistics and warehousing complexes, and smart infrastructure designed to meet future industrial requirements, providing investors with a world-class industrial ecosystem.
The project will be based on the ‘Work-Live-Grow’ model, integrating industries with skill development, innovation, and quality-of-life infrastructure. The park has been envisioned to accommodate industries engaged in high-value manufacturing, garments, toys, information technology, artificial intelligence, logistics, and other emerging technologies. It will promote balanced industrial development in the capital city while creating new avenues for investment.
Park will transform the development trajectory of the Kolar region
The Smart Industrial Park at Satgarhi is also expected to transform the development trajectory of the Kolar region. Until now primarily a residential area, Kolar is set to emerge as a new hub for investment, industry, and employment. The project is expected to generate more than 15,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, particularly benefiting the youth of Bhopal and nearby areas. The resulting increase in industrial and commercial activities will also provide a significant boost to the local economy.
World-class Convention and Exhibition Centre planned
A major highlight of the project will be the development of a world-class Convention and Exhibition Centre. Planned over approximately 25 acres, the facility will have a capacity of more than 10,000 and will be equipped to host national and international investment summits, industrial exhibitions, trade fairs, and global business events. The centre will provide Bhopal with a strong foundation to emerge as a leading MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) destination in Central India.
Excellent connectivity
The project is strategically significant owing to its excellent connectivity. The Satgarhi area enjoys convenient access to Raja Bhoj Airport, Rani Kamalapati Railway Station, Kolar Road and the proposed Western Bypass, making it an attractive industrial destination for investors. This connectivity will facilitate industrial establishment, logistics operations, and commercial activities.
Environmentally sustainable and smart industrial zone
The park will be developed as an environmentally sustainable and smart industrial zone. The park will feature a SCADA-based water management system, water and sewage treatment plants, an automated air quality monitoring system, electric vehicle charging stations, advanced security systems, and state-of-the-art utility corridors. These features will promote environmentally responsible industrial development while ensuring efficient resource management.
The Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Smart Industrial Park is expected to open new avenues for industrial investment, advanced manufacturing, and employment generation in Bhopal. By strengthening industrial infrastructure and enhancing the state's investment potential, the project will play a vital role in establishing Bhopal as a leading industrial and commercial hub in Central India.
