Ujjain is scripting a new chapter in industrial growth; CM Mohan Yadav inaugurates PepsiCo's Rs 1,266 cr flavour plant at Vikram Udyogpuri
Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the day marks a significant milestone in Madhya Pradesh's industrial development. He said that Ujjain, long renowned as a city of faith, is now emerging as a major centre of industrial growth.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government's sustained efforts have transformed Madhya Pradesh into an emerging global investment hub, creating large-scale employment opportunities for the youth through rapid industrialisation.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav virtually addressed the inauguration of PepsiCo's Rs 1,266 crore flavour concentrate manufacturing plant at Vikram Udyogpuri in Narwar village, Ujjain, on Tuesday.
He said that during the reign of Samrat Vikramaditya, Ujjain was counted among the world's most prosperous centres of trade and commerce. The Chief Minister said, "Our goal is to restore the city to its former glory, making it not only a centre of faith but also a leading destination for industry, investment and employment."
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that new industries are driving the growth of the Malwa region. He added that the State Government is successfully organising the Sashakt Udyami Samriddh Madhya Pradesh initiative to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a Viksit Bharat.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated the senior leadership of PepsiCo India Holdings Private Limited on the commissioning of the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. He said that India has only two flavour concentrate manufacturing plants of this advanced technology, and one of them has now become operational in Ujjain.
Plant has generated direct employment for around 800 youth
Spread across 22 acres, the facility is fully automation-driven. The plant has generated direct employment for around 800 youth and will significantly strengthen the company's manufacturing capacity in India while promoting ancillary industries and creating additional employment opportunities in the region.
CEO of PepsiCo India and South Asia, Jagrut Kotecha, said it was a matter of great pride for the company to establish the plant in the City of Baba Mahakal, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh with the support of the State Government. He expressed gratitude to the Government of Madhya Pradesh and the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) for their cooperation.
Member of Parliament Bal Yogi Umesh Nath Maharaj said the day was historic for the people of Ujjain. The guests were welcomed by Hardeep Bhatia of PepsiCo and Executive Director of MPIDC Ujjain and Rajesh Rathore.
