CM Mohan Yadav interacts with youth at Bhopal's Mansarovar Global University; one student asked him 'Why did you choose public life instead of a career in healthcare?' What did CM say?
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and revered Saint Avdhoot Shri Dadaguru Bhagwan participated in the ‘Yuva Samvad’ programme held at the Mansarovar Global University campus on Sunday. The theme of the interaction was ‘Nature-Centric Life: Systems and Development’. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav interacted warmly with a large gathering of young people and responded to their questions on education, employment, livelihoods, health, and government initiatives for youth development.
Saint Shri Dadaguru Bhagwan and Mansarovar Global University expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav on behalf of the MP youth for declaring 2027 as the ‘Yuva Varsh’. The Chief Minister was welcomed and felicitated with a Tulsi sapling, a shawl and a memento.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav responded to the youth's questions with ease and openness during the programme.
Question 1 – Student Sujal Shukla: Hon'ble Chief Minister, you had been selected to pursue a career in medicine. Why did you choose politics and public life instead of pursuing a career in healthcare?
CM Dr. Yadav: Building a career through education can be a dream for all of us, but India has a glorious tradition of dedicating one's life to national service. Many pracharaks of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, despite being highly educated, have devoted their entire lives to serving the nation. Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of the RSS, had also studied medicine, but instead of making medicine his profession, he chose the path of national service.
This inspiring tradition had a deep influence on my life as well. I too had the option of pursuing medicine, but with guidance, I decided to pursue a BSc in science so that I could continue social and organisational work alongside my studies. Today, I am completely satisfied with that decision.
Question 2 – Student Aman Rai: Hon'ble Chief Minister, on August 15, 2026, you announced that 2027 would be observed as the ‘Year of Youth’. What are your expectations from the youth, and what is the government’s action plan for the Year of Youth?
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav: The role of youth has always been important in our history. Lord Ram, in his youth, accompanied Maharishi Vishwamitra and protected sages and ascetics, demonstrating his capabilities to society. Lord Krishna too ended Kansa's tyranny in his youth. Similarly, countless young revolutionaries, including Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, dedicated their lives and sacrificed everything for India's freedom.
India is today the world's youngest country. Our youth have the talent and determination to make India a leading nation in the world. The government expects the youth of Madhya Pradesh not merely to seek jobs but to become job creators. They should dream big, set goals and move forward with full determination to achieve them.
I am confident that our youth, while fulfilling their parents’ dreams, will take Madhya Pradesh and the country to new heights of development. With this resolve, 2027 has been dedicated to the youth.
Question 3 – Student Aditya Prabhakar: Chief Minister, we have seen that despite your extremely busy schedule and numerous engagements, you take great care of your health. Please guide us on how we can maintain a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav: If we maintain discipline in managing our time and organise our daily routine, we can accomplish all our tasks smoothly. Just as students who study their syllabus regularly every day throughout the year do not feel stressed at examination time, regularity is equally important in life.
Sleeping, eating and studying are as essential to our daily lives as yoga and exercise. I am satisfied that despite my other commitments, I always make time for regular yoga and exercise. By God’s grace, I have so far not suffered from diabetes, heart disease or any other serious illness, and I do not even wear spectacles. Everyone should make time for regular yoga and exercise to keep their body healthy.
Question 4 – Student Kumari Tanvi Yogi: I am a second-year professional student. My question is that you are counted among the most highly educated Chief Ministers in the country. How did you balance your studies with your other responsibilities amid such a busy lifestyle?
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav: It is certainly difficult, but not impossible. Merely obtaining degrees is not enough; we must connect our knowledge with work and practical life.
When I became the joint secretary of the students' union for the first time, I was a first-year BSc student. I contested the election alongside my studies and also managed my business. With proper time management, it is possible to continue studying while working.
I completed my BSc and LLB in this manner. While serving as Chairman of the Ujjain Development Authority, I pursued MA in Political Science. Later, while discharging other public responsibilities, I completed MBA and subsequently PhD.
I believe education should not be limited to obtaining a job. A person should continue learning and pursuing self-study throughout life. I continue to study regularly even today.
I urge all of you to make books your companions and keep moving forward. Knowledge is a divine wealth that can never be destroyed and always inspires us to progress.
Question 5 – Dr. Jayesh, staff member of Mansarovar Dental College: Hon'ble Chief Minister, continuous efforts are being made to promote industrial activity in the State. How much benefit and employment will the youth of Madhya Pradesh receive from the establishment of these large industries?
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav: Work is being undertaken in all sectors, including heavy industries, MSMEs and small and cottage industries, to generate employment in the State. Madhya Pradesh has immense potential in mining, processing and technology-based industries. The government's effort is to ensure that the youth benefit from these opportunities.
