Students in MP's Sidhi take pledge to protect trees on Rakshabandhan
Sidhi. This year, ahead of the the festival of Raksha
Bandhan a unique blend of tradition and environmental conservation was visible at
Sidhi Public School, Civil Lines. The event held on the school premises
conveyed the message that protecting nature is the greatest responsibility of
human life.
The program began with students tying Raksha Sutras (sacred
threads) around the large trees on the school campus and performing rituals of
worship. The children took a symbolic pledge: just as a brother vows to protect
his sister, it is the duty of every citizen to safeguard trees, plants, and the
environment. This initiative reminded everyone present of their obligations
towards nature and delivered a powerful message regarding tree conservation.
Subsequently, the students tied Rakhis on each other,
strengthening the bonds of love, brotherhood, and mutual harmony. The
children's enthusiasm and high spirits filled the entire campus with a festive
atmosphere.
Appreciating this creative initiative, the school management
and teachers remarked that such events foster a sense of responsibility for
environmental conservation alongside respect for Indian culture among the
children. This initiative emerged as an inspiring message for society.
