Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker is known for her outspoken views. She faced significant trolling after marrying Samajwadi Party leader and social activist Fahad Ahmad. She was also targeted on social media regarding the weight she gained after the birth of her daughter. Recently, in a podcast, Swara spoke candidly about body shaming and the pressure on women to look beautiful.
'If someone only wants to see sexy girls they should not visit my page'
When asked about body shaming on Jai Madaan's podcast, Swara responded to trolls by stating that her life is not governed by how others perceive it. The actress remarked that if someone only wants to see "sexy girls," they should not visit her page but go elsewhere. It has been nearly two and a half years since her daughter was born, and it is natural for a woman's body to undergo changes after motherhood.
Trolling over a no-makeup photo
Swara also mentioned the trolling she faced over a no-makeup photo. She explained that during an election campaign, her team had posted a picture of her without makeup. Subsequently, some people compared her old and new photos, claiming she had become fat and unattractive after marrying a Muslim man. The actress noted that her husband, Fahad Ahmad, was also upset by such comments.
'I will no longer succumb to the pressure exerted by trolls'
However, Swara made it clear that she would no longer succumb to the pressure exerted by trolls regarding her body. She stated that women in the film industry and other public-facing professions constantly face pressure to look good. Women are made to feel extra pressure about their bodies, especially after childbirth. She emphasized that nourishing the body properly during this time is far more important.
Swara Bhasker had a court marriage with Fahad Ahmad on February 16, 2023, under the Special Marriage Act. In September 2023, the couple welcomed their daughter, Rabia. On the work front, Swara was last seen alongside her husband, Fahad Ahmad, in the TV show 'Pati Patni Aur Panga'. As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding her next project.
