‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ Programme to be Held at Cultural Heritage and Iconic Sites Across Madhya Pradesh on September 17
The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan will be organised across the Madhya Pradesh from September 17 to October 17 on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The campaign will begin on September 17 with statewide public participation through lamp-lighting ceremonies and blood donation camps.
As part of the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme, lamps will be lit at 7 PM at cultural heritage sites and iconic locations in every ward of municipal corporations, municipal councils and nagar parishads, as well as at selected sites in gram panchayats. Blood donation camps will also be organised to ensure the timely availability of blood for anaemic mothers and critically ill patients.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya reviewed preparations by urban local bodies for the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan through video conference.
Seva Sankalp Abhiyan to Become a People’s Movement
Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the campaign is being organised in the spirit of the strong tradition of service, public welfare and citizen participation that has evolved under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He made it clear that the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is not merely a formal government programme, but a nationwide people’s movement aimed at taking compassion and the spirit of service to the last person in society.
‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ at Historical and Iconic Sites
The ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme, scheduled for 7 PM on September 17, will be organised on a grand scale at major historical and iconic sites across the state. The minister directed all urban local bodies to make adequate arrangements for lamps, oil, candles and other lighting well in advance. Major public spaces should be specially illuminated on the occasion, with active participation from local citizens, social organisations, self-help groups and public representatives.
Beneficiaries of Welfare Schemes to Join the Celebrations
To take the campaign to every section of society, active beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), PM SVANidhi and Ladli Behna Yojana will be specially involved in the programme. Lamp-lighting at the homes and settlements of beneficiary families will be encouraged to foster a strong spirit of partnership between the government and society.
Blood Donation Camps to Ensure Timely Blood Supply
Reviewing the statewide blood donation camps to be organised on the morning of September 17, Minister Shri Vijayvargiya and Additional Chief Secretary Shri Sanjay Dubey directed officials to ensure effective coordination with the Health Department and blood banks. He instructed that the blood collected through the campaign be made available in a timely manner to anaemic mothers, critically ill patients and other patients in need of blood.
Strong Example of Collective Responsibility and Good Governance
Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel said that the campaign aims to strengthen the spirit of service, compassion and collective responsibility in society. Additional Chief Secretary Shri Sanjay Dubey directed all urban local bodies to regularly monitor the activities and systematically upload success stories, photographs and videos on designated portals and social media platforms. He said this would help the campaign set a new benchmark for public participation and good governance in Madhya Pradesh.
