On the other hand, Maithili Thakur had previously stated that the flood situation in her constituency was not severe and that she remained in constant contact with local residents. According to reports, Maithili Thakur traveled to Rotterdam, Netherlands, to attend the 'Indilos India Festival.' There, she participated in a program showcasing the folk culture of India and Bihar and performed the traditional 'Chaiti' folk song.

The RJD targeted the visit on social media, questioning why an MLA was abroad while the state was grappling with floods.
