New Delhi: The world-renowned Bagh Print art from the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh has become a center of attraction for foreign delegates at the BRICS Bazaar, organized alongside the 18th BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
Through a live demonstration of this traditional handicraft—created using natural dyes and intricately carved wooden blocks—Madhya Pradesh’s rich artistic and cultural heritage is being effectively showcased on the international stage.
Delegates from India and abroad are being introduced to the unique techniques of Bagh Print, the use of natural dyes, and the process of printing on fabric using carved wooden blocks.
Foreign Delegates Try Their Hand at Bagh Print Block Printing
High-level delegates from various countries attending the BRICS Summit toured the BRICS Bazaar. During their visit, they stopped at the Bagh Print stall to observe the traditional block printing process up close and understand its intricacies.
The delegates not only appreciated this traditional art form but also personally dipped the carved wooden blocks into dyes to print on fabric. Blocks featuring the ‘BRICS’ logo had been specially prepared for the occasion. The delegates took the fabrics printed with these blocks back with them as souvenirs.

A live demonstration of Bagh Print is being presented by Mohammad Bilal Khatri—a National Award recipient from Dhar district—at this significant global forum, the 18th BRICS Summit.
