CM Mohan Yadav to roll out first power transformer from Crompton & Greaves’ new manufacturing unit in Sehore
Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate roll-out of first transformer from the new power transformer manufacturing unit of CG (Crompton & Greaves) Power and Industrial Solutions Limited in Sehore on September 4.
Established over nearly 50 acres, this unit is India’s biggest power transformer manufacturing facility located at a single site. CM performed the bhoomi pujan of this plant in August 2025, and production has now commenced here in around 13 to 14 months.
The modern unit established in Sehore will play an important role in manufacturing high-capacity power transformers in view of growing electricity requirements in the country. Power transformers in the range of 220 kV to 1200 kV will be manufactured here.
The unit will have a production capacity of 35 power transformers per month. Establishment of such a high-capacity facility at a single location will strengthen manufacturing of high-voltage transmission equipment in the country.
High-capacity transformers manufactured in Sehore will reach different parts of the country as well as global markets. Transformers produced at the unit will be used in projects related to power sector, data centres, railways, renewable energy, oil and gas, and transmission infrastructure.

This project is important for rapidly bringing major industrial investments to the ground in Madhya Pradesh. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the state government is working to convert investment proposals into actual industries and increase employment opportunities at the local level. The CG unit will create more than 2,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities in Sehore.
CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited has been operating in the field of electrical engineering for nearly nine decades. The company manufactures transformers, switchgear, induction motors, drives, traction motors and other electrical equipment. The new unit in Sehore will significantly expand the company’s power transformer manufacturing capacity.
Large and high-capacity transformers manufactured in Sehore will help meet the country’s electricity requirements, while their exports will give a new direction to the industrial identity of Sehore and Madhya Pradesh. Along with local employment, opportunities will also increase for other businesses associated with this unit.
