IndiGo aircraft collides with pole while parking at Srinagar Airport, passengers and crew members safe
An IndiGo aircraft (Flight 6E 225) collided with a pole while parking at Srinagar Airport. The flight had arrived in Srinagar from Navi Mumbai on Friday morning. The incident occurred around 9 AM while the aircraft was being parked at Bay No. 6. All 200 passengers and crew members on board are safe; no injuries have been reported.
Following the incident, passengers and crew were safely disembarked using manual aircraft stairs. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident. Operations at Srinagar Airport remain normal, and all flights are running according to schedule.
The pole struck by the aircraft is part of the Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS). This system assists in guiding the aircraft to the correct position within the parking bay and ensures safe parking.
