Lathi charge on JUDA in Bhopal: Two cops line-attached, Rajendra Shukla announces 50 per cent hike in stipend
Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla held a discussion with representatives of interns, JUDA and MTA at Gandhi Medical College (GMC), Bhopal, on various issues. He said the incident involving students was unfortunate. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed displeasure after being informed and directed an impartial inquiry be conducted.
As an immediate measure, two police personnel have been attached to the lines. Further action will be taken based on the inquiry findings. Deputy CM Shukla made these remarks while addressing a press conference at GMC Bhopal.
No Action against Students; Proper Treatment for Injured Students
Deputy CM Shukla said that students who were peacefully raising their concerns should not face such incidents. He assured that steps would be taken to ensure that such incidents do not recur on the medical college campus. No action will be taken against students who raised their concerns peacefully. Arrangements will also be made to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured students.
Stipend to Be Increased by 50 Per cent
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has decided to increase the existing stipend by 50 per cent. He said discussions on this demand had already been underway and that the Chief Minister had been in continuous dialogue with the students. Speaking on the medical college campus, he said the constructive discussions had resulted in a positive outcome. Representatives expressed their appreciation for the decision.
Young Doctors Urged to Serve in Rural Areas with Dedication
Rajendra Shukla urged young doctors to work in rural areas with dedication, sensitivity and a spirit of service. He said rural service provides doctors with an opportunity to understand ground realities and gain valuable professional experience.p The state government is providing full support in training and preparing doctors, and expects them to serve rural communities with commitment during their bond period. He said that doctors are an important asset to society.
He also emphasised that treating patients with sensitivity and speaking to them with a smile are important aspects of healthcare. He congratulated the representatives for their role in reaching a positive resolution.
