Team India announced for match against Australia A: Ruturaj Gaikwad named captain, Devdutt Padikkal vice-captain, and Hardik Pandya returns
India A Squad Against Australia: The BCCI has announced the India A squad to face Australia A. Star batter Devdutt Padikkal has been entrusted with the captaincy for the multi-day matches, while Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named captain of the India A team for the ODI matches.
Two multi-day matches and three ODIs will be played between India A and Australia A. All these matches are scheduled to take place in Puducherry between September 22 and October 11.
Hardik Pandya to Undergo Fitness Test
Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been included in the India A squad for the three ODIs; however, he must pass a fitness test. Apart from him, the squad includes Rajat Patidar, Gurjapneet Singh, Arshin Kulkarni, Naman Dhir, Padikkal, and Sai Sudharsan.
Compared to the India A ODI squad that toured Sri Lanka recently, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Tilak Varma, Ayush Badoni, Anshul Kamboj, Anukul Roy, and Suryansh Shedge have been left out. They were not selected this time as they are currently with the Indian senior team.
Prafull Hinge Gets a Maiden Call-up
Prafull Hinge has received his first-ever call-up to the India A squad for the multi-day matches. Hinge hails from Vidarbha and plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. He made a splash in the last IPL season by taking four wickets on his debut match against Rajasthan Royals.
In addition to Hinge, Nachiket Bhute, Vijaykumar Vyshak, N Jagadeesan, Tanush Kotian, and Kumar Kushagra have also been included in the squad. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Saransh Jain, Dhruv Jurel, Zeeshan Ansari, Aquib Nabi, and Gurnoor Brar have been excluded from the multi-day squad.
