Major Administrative Action after CM Mohan Yadav’s Visit to Sagar: Illegal Constructions of Accused in Banda Illicit Liquor Case Bulldozed
Following Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s visit to Sagar, the district administration took major action against illegal encroachments in Banda. Taking serious note of deaths linked to illicit liquor in the area, CM Mohan Yadav had directed officials to take strict action against those responsible.
Acting on the directions, a joint team of the Banda Municipal Council and police removed five illegal constructions on government land. These included three structures belonging to Manish Lodhi, one belonging to Chandrabhan Rajput and one belonging to Ashish Sahu. Houses, permanent buildings and warehouses were among the structures demolished.
The SDM, Tehsildar and Chief Municipal Officer, along with a large police contingent, were present during the operation. According to the administration, the three accused in the Banda illicit liquor case had allegedly occupied government land and constructed illegal properties there over a long period. The illicit liquor trade was also reportedly being operated from these premises.
Notices seeking explanations for the encroachments were served 24 hours before the action. However, the accused did not submit any response within the stipulated period, following which the administration proceeded as per the prescribed rules. The district administration said strict action against illicit liquor, mafias and encroachment on government land would continue across the district.
