MP Foundation Day to highlight farmers and agriculture: CM Mohan Yadav gives details of celebrations
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that 2026 is being observed as Krishak Kalyan Varsh under the theme ‘Samriddh Kisan, Samriddh Pradesh’. He directed that Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day on November 1 should focus on agricultural development and farmers’ welfare.
CM said special exhibitions should be organised on advanced agriculture, natural farming and agricultural innovations, while farmers, entrepreneurs and youth who have introduced innovative practices and made notable achievements in the agricultural sector should be honoured.
All government buildings to be illuminated
He said that along with state-level activities, programmes should also be organised with enthusiasm and festivity across all districts. All government buildings should be illuminated on the night of November 1 to mark Foundation Day. Programmes should also be organised to provide the state’s talented individuals with opportunities to showcase their art, skills and abilities.
CM said that the Foundation Day celebrations are a festival of the entire state and called for maximum public participation in state- and district-level programmes. The Chief Minister issued these directions at a meeting held at Mantralaya on Monday to review preparations for Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day.
Festival of Indigenous Cuisine to be Organised
The meeting was informed that the state-level celebration of the 71st Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day will be held at Lal Parade Ground. Exhibitions will showcase Viksit Madhya Pradesh-2047, One District-One Product, Jananayaks of Madhya Pradesh, the state’s traditional arts, temple architecture, India’s Rishi tradition, heritage-led development, and achievements in agriculture.
A special festival of indigenous cuisine will also be organised. A grand Sugam Sangeet programme will be held on the evening of November 1, featuring performances by renowned artists from across the country. An attractive fireworks display will also be organised.
Achievements of Districts to be Showcased
Various cultural activities, along with displays of district-wise achievements and local products, will be organised at district headquarters as part of the Foundation Day celebrations.
