Neeru Dhanda Wins Second Gold at Asian Games-2026; Makes History in Mixed Team Event Too
Neeru Dhanda, a talented shooter from the Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy, has achieved another golden milestone at the Asian Games 2026. On September 30, the Indian duo of Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai clinched the gold medal in the trap mixed team event. With this victory, Neeru Dhanda has secured her third medal—and second gold—at the Asian Games.
Neeru had previously made history by winning the gold medal in the women's trap individual event. Additionally, she helped India win a silver medal in the women's trap team event alongside Manisha Keer and Ashima Ahlawat. By winning gold in the mixed team event, she has now brought her total medal count at the Asian Games to three.
Neeru and Kynan's Golden Shot in Mixed Team Event
In the trap mixed team event, the Indian pair of Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai displayed excellent marksmanship to win the gold medal. With this gold, Neeru's tally for the Asian Games 2026 campaign now stands at two gold medals and one silver medal.
Historic Gold in Women's Trap Individual Event
On September 29, Neeru Dhanda won the gold medal in the women's trap individual event by hitting 28 out of 30 targets accurately. Her performance also set a new Asian record. She became the first Indian female shooter to win a gold medal in the women's trap individual event at the Asian Games.
On the same day, Neeru also helped India secure a silver medal in the women's trap team event. The Indian team, comprising Neeru, Manisha Keer, and Ashima Ahlawat, won silver with a score of 328 points. Individually, Neeru scored 118 points, Ashima scored 106, and Manisha scored 104.
