Prices of commercial gas cylinder, 5 kg cylinder hiked: Check new rates

On the first day of September, oil companies have once again dealt a price-hike blow to LPG consumers. Effective today (September 1), the price of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been raised. Customers in various cities will now have to pay approximately Rs 9.50 to Rs 10.50 more for this cylinder. However, there has been no change in the prices of domestic gas cylinders.


According to new rates from Indian Oil, the price of the 19-kg commercial cylinder in Delhi has risen from Rs 2,738 to 2,747.50. In Mumbai, the price has increased from Rs 2,691.50 to 2,701; This means customers in Mumbai will also have to pay Rs 9.50 more than before.


Apart from Delhi and Mumbai, looking at the increased prices of commercial LPG cylinders in other major cities, Chennai has seen a hike of Rs 10.50. The 19-kg cylinder will now cost Rs 2,916.50 there, up from the previous price of Rs  2,906. Commercial cylinders are primarily used in restaurants, hotels, dhabas (roadside eateries), and other business establishments.


Meanwhile, the new price for the 19-kg commercial cylinder in Gurugram is ₹2,764. In Noida, the rate is ₹2,747.50. Commercial cylinders will now cost ₹2,870 in Lucknow and ₹3,044 in Patna. On the other hand, there has been no change in the prices of domestic 14.2-kg cylinders in these cities.


Price of 5-kg cylinder also increased


The price of the 5-kg LPG cylinder has also been raised by Rs 2. Its rate has increased from Rs 762 to 764. However, there has been no change in the prices of standard 5 kg domestic cylinders and XTRALITE cylinders. This comes as a relief to domestic consumers.


Earlier, on August 1, the price of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was reduced by more than Rs 200. In Delhi, the price dropped by 202 to 2,728, while in Kolkata, the cylinder cost fell to 2,872.50 following a reduction of 209. Now, a marginal increase has been implemented in September.
