Bhopal to Host Grand Army Day Celebrations on January 15, 2027: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s Visit Proposed
Bhopal will host grand celebrations on January 15, 2027, under the theme “Aapki Sena Aapke Paas” (Your Army, at Your Doorstep), featuring a main parade, military exhibition and integrated combat display.
Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh is also expected to attend the celebrations. Senior Army officers, including Lt. General Arvind Chauhan and Major General Vikas Lal, met Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at Samatva Bhawan and briefed him on the proposed events and preparations. They also invited him to the programme.
Dr. Yadav assured the officers of the state government’s full cooperation in making the celebrations dignified and memorable. Various state government departments will participate in the events. He said that as 2027 will be observed as the Year of Youth in Madhya Pradesh, efforts will also be made to ensure strong youth participation.
Programme Highlights
A Sankalp Tree plantation programme will be held at Shaurya Smarak on November 1, 2026. A military exhibition and integrated combat demonstration are proposed in January 2027. The main parade will be held on January 15 along Kalibari Road in the BHEL area.
A patriotic evening programme, Shaurya Sandhya – Ran Hunkar, will be organised that evening at Tatya Tope Nagar Stadium. The Jamboree Ground in BHEL will host a display of the Indian Army’s advanced military equipment, while an Integrated Combat Display showcasing its valour, operational capabilities and strategic skills will be held in the VIP Boat Club area of Bhojtal.
Around 50,000 representatives are expected to attend the main parade and related events. Preparations are underway, with a focus on adequate arrangements and promoting youth and citizen participation. Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Neeraj Mandloi was present during the meeting.
