Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan at Jawahar Chowk on Friday. He paid tribute by garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi with a garland made of yarn. Dr. Yadav spun the charkha, purchased Khadi clothes and also recorded a message about his experience in the Visitors’ Book.

CM obtained information about the entire process, from production and marketing of Khadi clothes to their sale. He interacted with buyers at the Khadi store and said that they should maintain their love for Khadi, always adopt Khadi and move towards Swadeshi.

CM Mohan Yadav said that we all need to be Vocal for Local. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, a 20 percent discount is being offered on purchase of Khadi clothes. ChM made the purchase and paid online through UPI.

CM, while interacting with media, said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India is moving on the path of development with self-reliance and self-sufficiency. Mahatma Gandhi made Swadeshi the guiding principle of his life. He boycotted foreign goods and clothes and promoted indigenous Khadi made from cotton. This Khadi proved to be an effective weapon for overthrowing British rule and connecting every section of society with the Indian freedom movement.

CM said that at present, through Khadi Gramodyog, cotton-producing farmers of the state are also receiving a fair price for their produce. Promotion of indigenous Khadi ensures that Indian currency does not go out of the country, thereby strengthening our economy.

CM said that citizens associated with Khadi cloth production should live their lives with self-respect, and to sustain this spirit, all residents of the state should resolve on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti to adopt Khadi and Swadeshi goods.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav interacted with people purchasing goods at the Khadi store and appreciated their attachment to Khadi. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav asked Ms. Vijayalakshmi Yadav, who was shopping, which class she studied in. The girl replied, “Sir, my BSc BEd result was declared today itself, and I have passed.” Pleased with this, CM blessed Vijayalakshmi and gave her his pen as a gift.

Local MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani, social worker Ravindra Yati, Rahul Kothari, Aman Yadav, other public representatives and staff of the Khadi store were present on the occasion.
