Rajgarh: For young athletes in Rajgarh, the 'Khelo India Small Centre' is emerging as a local gateway to superior training and major sporting opportunities. Currently, 72 athletes—40 boys and 32 girls—are undergoing training at this Judo Small Centre, which was established in the district in 2022 under the 'Khelo India' program.

The centre is already yielding results. During the 2025-26 financial year, eight athletes won medals in national and state-level competitions, bringing laurels to Rajgarh.

One of the most significant achievements is the selection of Hariom Prajapati for the Asian Judo Championship to be held in Hong Kong. His selection has inspired other young athletes at the centre to set ambitious goals.

For children who might otherwise rarely access specialized sports coaching, this centre provides a venue for regular training and skill refinement. It also offers them opportunities to compete outside the district and gain valuable experience.

The progress made by Rajgarh's judokas is inspiring more young people to take up sports and pursue them seriously. The athletes have expressed their gratitude to the Government of India and the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare of Madhya Pradesh for providing training and competitive opportunities through this scheme.
