Today is the third day of Chhath Mahaparva. On this day, along with Chhath Maiya, Sun God is also worshiped. On this day, the first half will be given to the Asthachalagami Sun.
After this, on Sunday morning, there will be a passing of Chhath Vrat with the offering of sun to the rising sun. On this day special poojas are offered at the ponds. And the songs of Chhath Maiya are sung.
Today, Chhath fast people will stand in the reservoirs carrying the sugarcane, coconut, banana, turmeric, sev, oranges, fruits and flowers made of wheat flour and main prasad made of jaggery and sugar, made of avala rice of 'Thekua', is in the reservoir.
Both women and men observe this fast and pay respect to the sun and offer water. There is purity and cleanliness in it.
