Sharad Pawar Blow To Uddhav Thackeray

The Shiv Sena, gave a shock to BJP in Maharashtra has now suffered a setback. According to the information, Uddhav Thackeray spoke to Sharad Pawar on phone for the formation of Shiv Sena led government with the coalition of NCP Shard Pawar party.  

But Sharad Pawar said on Friday that people have asked NCP to sit in opposition and the party will do the same. 

Earlier on Friday, Sonia Gandhi did not show any interest in supporting Shiv Sena in a meeting with Maharashtra Congress.

Sharad Pawar says that we do not have a clear majority. The public has asked us to sit in the opposition. We accept that mandate and will take care that we play that role effectively.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
