Today is the world's Diabetes. But is it right to just have another day without doing anything to control it. Diabetes is one of this state where urgent action is needed. But very less is being done for its prevention. November 14 is celebrated as World Diabetes Day.
Diabetes one of the commonest disease of this time which is a major health problem of all times now a days.
However, the early symptoms of this disease can be identified and controlled easily. Diabetes can be controlled to some extent through regular exercise and special diet. At the same time, there are some things that should not be consumed.
Diabetic Food To Be Controlled:-
Potato: Potato is a vegetable which is rich in potassium, fiber, vitamin C, vitamin B, copper, lutein and manganese. Potato is very beneficial for the skin. But it is not a healthy vegetable for diabetes patients. Potatoes have high amounts of carbohydrate plus hypoglycemic index which increases blood sugar levels.
Raisins: Diabetes patients also have to avoid eating dry fruits, especially raisins should be avoided as it is the concentrated form of fresh fruits. While a cup of grapes contains just 27 grams of carbohydrate, the amount of carbohydrate in a cup of raisins increases to 115 grams. For this reason, diabetic patients should not consume raisins.
Chiku: Diabetic patients should keep Chiku away from their diet. This fruit is very sweet and its hypoglycemic index is also very high. Consuming it increases the level of sugar.
Watermelon: The hypoglycemic index of watermelon is 72, which is more for diabetes patients. Excess intake of this can be dangerous for diabetics. Consumption of watermelon can increase diabetes patients complaining of high blood pressure.
Fat milk: Milk contains balanced amounts of nutrients. For this reason, all individuals are advised to include milk in their diet. But diabetes patients should avoid fat milk. Fat can increase the amount of insulin in the body. You can use low-fat milk instead of full-fat milk.
