    Former Union Minister ID Swamy Laid To Ashes

    According to reports coming in Bharatiya Janata Party veteran leader and former Union Minister of State for Home ID Swami has passed away.  He died on Sunday, 5 days after the death of his wife.  

    His last rites were performed at 11 am today at Shivpuri, Arjun Gate.  

    According to reports he suddenly became ill on Sunday, he was admitted to the Metro Hospital in Faridabad for treatment.  ID Swamy was an IAS officer.  In 1996, ID Swamy contested from Karnal on BJP seat.  In 1999, ID Swamy defeated former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal.
