Third Phase Of Polling Has Begun In Jharkhand

Polling for the third phase of Jharkhand assembly elections has started.  Voting is going on in 17 seats in this phase.  Polling will be held from 7 am to 5 pm in Ranchi, Kanke, Hatia, Ramgarh and Barkatha assembly constituencies, while in the remaining areas only till 3 pm.  

According to the sources the Election Commission has completed all preparations to conduct elections in these seats in a peaceful, fair and transparent manner and about forty thousand election personnel have been deployed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also made an appeal to the public to vote in masses in Jharkhand.  He said that the third phase of voting is going on in Jharkhand today.  I urge the people of the seats where voting is taking place to participate in maximum number of votes.  He said that I specially urge the youth to vote.  

According to the Chief Electoral Officer, a total of 7016 polling stations have been set up for 17 seats, in which a total of 56,18,267 voters will be able to exercise their franchise.  These voters include 29,37976 males and 26,80205 females.
