Knock Knock: Banks to remain closed for next three days

If you are planning to complete your pending bank- related work this weekend, then this news if for you . Banks will remain closed from 31st January to 2nd February for 3 days. On 31st and 1st bank employees's unions have decided to sit on a two-day bank nationwide strike and on 2nd Feb, banks will remain closed, because of Sunday. On Feb 1, Union Budget will be unveiled, the labor department and finance ministry tried to convince bank unions not to go on strike and postpone it for further talks, but the conversation between the two does not seem to be successful.

The bank unions are demanding a pay hike and are hence sitting one the two- day strike. Banks will be shut down for 3 days straight. So complete all your work related to bank today. At the same time, there is also a possibility of cash scarcity in ATM machines due to the strike. So in advance do your cash arrangement.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
