As whole country is immersed in the celebration of the 71st Republic Day. The tricolor is flying in every corner of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the National War Memorial and paid homage to the martyrs.
This will be the first time when today PM visited Amar Jawan Jyoti and paid tribute to the martyrs at the National War Memorial. The defense minister of the country, CDS Bipin Rawat and the president of the three armies were also present on this occasion.
On the occasion of the 71st Republic Day, Brazilian President JM Bolsonaro was the chief guest of the program and was given guest of honour. The President of the country, Ramnath Kovind, hoisted the national flag at the Rajpath in Delhi in the morning. After which the President was saluted by the Indian Army. Then the parade was organized from 10 am.
