Reports coming in from Kannauj Uttar Pradesh where 20 people had died in an road accident on Friday, while 25 people were seriously injured. In the accident, the bus carrying around 40 passengers was completely charred.
According to the information received, a bus was going from Farrukhabad to Jaipur in Kannauj, UP. The bus and truck collided face to face near Kannauj at around 8 pm on Friday night, causing a fire in the diesel tank of the bus and the bus became fireball killing around 20 passengers who died in the spot and severely injuring 25.
As reported the fire in the bus spread so fast that people did not get a chance to get out of the bus and save themselves. After the accident, CM Yogi Adityanath has announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the dead and 50 thousand of the injured.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the accident. He has said that he is very sad to hear about the Kannauj accident. I express my condolences to the families of the dead.
Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has also expressed grief and added that I am hurt in the Kannauj accident. My deepest condolences to the family of the dead.
