US Flag Lowers To Half In Respect Of Americans Who Died Due To COVID-19: Toll Touches 1 Lakh

As the death toll reaches 1 lakh in America US President Donald Trump orders US Flag to be lowered to half for three days in honour of the victims who have lost their lives due to covid-19 pandemic.

The announcement came when the US death toll reaches 1 Lakh.  This gesture of the country is with respect to the innocent Americans who have lost their lives in this dreaded disease.

This has been done and had a followed call by the Democrats to lower the flag when it had reached the grim number.

Trump in hisbtweet has said that," I'll be lowering the flags on all federal  buildings and national monuments to half staff over the next three days in memory of the fellow Americans who have lost their lives due to coronavirus."

There are an average of 1300 deaths per day this week in US.

House Speaker Nancy Palosi has said that," Our hearts are broken by this great loss."

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
