Reports are coming from World Health Organisation Chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus ,said that India would make COVID-19 as an opportunity to speed up Health Insurance Scheme Ayushman Bharat with the prime focus on healthcare as several nations are facing challenges . India can make this an opportunity.
According to Health Ministry, India saw a record single-day jump of 9,887 coronavirus cases and 294 deaths on Saturday, pushing the nationwide infection tally to 2,36,657 and the death toll to 6,642. With that India has also become 6th worst hit nation by COVID-19.
In 2018, Narendra Modi has launched Ayushman Bharat which has become the World's Largest Health Insurance Scheme. Modi has recently said that the number of people who have benefited from the scheme has crossed One Crore mark.
The scheme aims to cover more than 500 million beneficiaries and provide coverage of Rs 500,000 per family per year.
